Yes i know I was supposed to be out painting the town red but due to a little miscommunication problem ie- leaving my cell phone and map behind I've ended up coming back home.<br />Not that I couldn't have gone out without it but despite the fact that I'm pretending not to wait for a phone call, i feel uneasy without it. Its nice to know that the dude your obsessing over definitley hasn't called you no? Golly I'm such a dweeb. Sometimes it astonishes me how a fairly intelligent chick like me can turn to putty over a guy. Faced with the challenge of when to call, how long to wait, how interested to appear my brain, for some incredibly annoying reason switches off and starts trickling out of my ears. Why? It's not like its the first time I've had a crush on someone...<br />Anyhow that's enough moaning. I'm actually blogging. Sorry to all of yous who've been there, done that and published the book already but golly gosh this really is good fun. Let's just hope it lasts.<br />I guess this blog will come to represent the ultimate in procrastination (guess I should have chosen that as a the title but for those of yous who are curious as to the origins of the bizzare title to my blog I nicked it from the title of a column that Norman Mailer wrote for the Village Voice way back in the early 50s).<br />Whats hip and whats square is profoundly interesting to me. Anyway I can feel a philosophical rambling session coming on so I'll stop myself here. As my good make Mikey H said to me over a plate of pasta at his birthday dinner in Tufnell Park on Friday, the key to being a great blogger is to keep your readers amused and entertained so I guess I'll save my boring thoughts for another day.<br />I'm off to hit the streets of Milan in search of some parties to crash - it's the <em>Salone Internazionale del Mobile </em>this week.
